I adore this newborn picture.  Love the expression, the clarity, the connection, the teensyness of baby’s little fingers.  LOVE newborn photography, feel so blessed to have such an amazing family trust me with beautifully photographing their most precious moments.

This precious new baby was only 4 days old when I met her at her home in Grand Rapids.  Upon hugging her beautiful momma and family, who I’ve known for years and have had the absolute honor of photographing many times… I jumped right in and captured her with her eyes open for several images.  So beautiful with a simple elegance in black and white tones.  I do not tire of photographing these amazing newborn babies, not one bit.

If you are expecting a little addition to your family in April, May, June or July, and live within a few minutes of the Forest Hills or Knapps Corner aera, let me know!  This will be my final post about it for a while, the schedule is pretty full but I’d like to squeeze in just one or two more.  I’m calling for sweet tiny newborn models (and before that, their beautiful pregnant mommas…) to be a part of a very special project.

And in the mean time, a few beautifully toned black and white newborn pictures… loved this new baby’s photos!  It was a lengthy photography session, going just over two hours, but worth it in the end.  Mom and dad really loved many of my signature poses and wanted to wait it out until baby was sound asleep to capture these pictures of her sweet new baby (and many more like them!)

Notice to all of you pregnant mommas who are interested in the possibility of a newborn photography session in your home.  Newborn pictures are generally taken within the first three weeks of baby’s new life, and within those first 10 days is my personal favorite.  Email me if you are in the Forest Hills/Knapps Corner area or within less than 15ish driving minutes of it – I have a fun offer that you might like!

I know that sun flare pictures are not for everyone, but they feed my soul.  I always hope to get at least a few in each sunset session!  There are always plenty of pictures with more clarity and less wild and crazy, but I always admit to loving the artistic feeling in sun flare photos!
