Allie first photographed my son and me when he was eighteen months old. I don’t even think he realized he was being photographed – she made us both so comfortable and we had such a fun session. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the images that she captured were so incredibly amazing! She captured the pure essence of Jakson. The photos from that session are displayed in both my clinic and our home and everyone always comments on how beautiful they are. Since that first session we’ve had numerous other sessions with Allie, each just as amazing. Our second son was eight days old when she photographed him. She was patient and gentle as she captured beautiful pictures of Jonah during that tiny newborn time that passes so quickly.

Our search for a newborn photographer started when I was 5 months pregnant. My husband and I were looking for a photographer that could connect with children and capture a moment in time. After a lot of searching and interviewing, we chose Proud to Introduce Photography. It was through meeting Allie and seeing her beautiful work that we knew she the perfect match for us. Her photographs told a story, each one showed an emotion and connection she was making through the lens. That was exactly what we were looking for.

At just 9 days old our daughter Claire was photographed. As first time parents this was one of our first outing with the baby and I remember being a little nervous. Upon arrival at the studio, Allie greeted us at the door with a since of calm and excitement about the session. This immediately put us at ease. Allie connected with Claire instantly and our session was wonderful.

I found Allie in 2006 when my son was 6 weeks old. She was featured in a local news article and I was looking for a photographer who could come to my home. I had one shot I was interested in getting (my gorgeous shirtless husband cradling my naked baby in his arms) but aside from that I had zero expectations. At the time, I was experiencing the familiar post-partum elation of being a completely smitten new mom with a plethora of new emotions compounded by sleep deprivation. My skin was pale, my middle soft and my eyelids droopy.

Our first phone conversation solidified what I hoped to find- a compassionate and empathetic ear who seemed as thrilled about my new arrival as I was, having never met any of us. Meeting Allie for the first time was like opening the door to an old friend and our 2 hour session was as low-fuss and relaxed as I felt in a long time.

Allie captured every expression, both obvious and subtle. I cried the first time I opened our album and I well up still. Allie has since photographed our family 6 times and each time is its own unique experience that brings out something extraordinary in the art that fills my walls. She has an unbelievable knack for bringing out the adventurous and her eye sees profound beauty in everyday things. I was recently told that a good friend, who receives our annual Christmas card (a la Allie) has been asked if we are “real people”. Well, the answer is that we are very real and very much in love with everything Allie does and stands for.

I’ve never referred a business as many times and as enthusiastically as I do Proud to Introduce. My family is shamefully proud to be a client and with another gorgeous life on its way, we’re looking forward to expanding our relationship.

“We (mainly my wife and daughters) have used Allie to take photos of our family since my middle daughter was a couple months old. Allie is a truly gifted photographer. She has an artist’s eye and it shows in her photos.

When I think of family pictures I think of the staged photo you see on everyone’s picture wall. To me, those photos feel more like an extension of senior pictures in high school. I feel like I should be leaning on my car while wearing my letter jacket. Allie takes photographs in a way that never feels staged. More impressively, she has an uncanny knack for capturing your kids at just that moment. You know the moment I’m talking about. One snowy Saturday morning my sweet boys and I made our way to the “Proud to Introduce” studio. Allie met us in slippers and smile. The photo session was a gift to myself a way to honor my role as mom and to bear witness (in a small way) to this huge love I have for my kids.

Over the course of an hour, Allie made a place for us to laugh and snuggle, share books and simply be who we really are together. She captured those moments with a generous spirit and an artistic eye. Her ability to see beauty in a humble gesture was enhanced by the natural light that filtered in through the window. Allie’s genuine interest in our lives made the boys and I feel comfortable and loved.

I now hold in my hands the most lovely, intimate record of that morning a small handmade book filled with ten photos. I look at the images and I am transported; I can smell my oldest son’s clean hair, feel the soft cheek of my four-year-old. In a world that moves at breakneck speed, Allie’s fine work has made time stand still. What an extraordinary gift.
