This sweet baby boy was born in LA, so that his mommy could have a very a tumor removed as SOON as possible after he was born. He means everything to them- you can feel it when you’re in the room with them and you can SEE it in their images. It was such an incredible honor to photograph her maternity session a few months ago and now her newborn session. I believe their beautiful son was 6 weeks when they made it back to Milwaukee, happy, healthy, and lucky to have each other. Their newborn photography session, well really- this FAMILY was amazing to photograph.

Ahh, this family was an absolute dream to photograph in the studio for their sweet daughter’s newborn portrait session. Mom and dad were so aid back, tender, so loving and sweet with their new baby. The way that they handled her with such love and care, and talked to her and looked at her. Just soaking up her incredible newborn beauty and sweetness. amazing to capture. I could have photographed this family ALL day long!! They came in to the Wauwatosa studio recently, big sisters were incredible to photograph too… more images to come! I just HAD to post this one right away, it melts me!

This adorable baby boy has the biggest smile, his whole face just lights up when he smiles, and it’s not tough to get those sweet smiles to flow! I “met” him while he was still inside his mom’s belly; we had an AMAZING maternity photography session, must have been about 8 months ago now. Time flies! Her belly was so round and perfect and beautiful, the pregnancy pictures were amazing. And then when he was born and about 8 days old, I was fortunate enough to travel to their Wauwatosa home for an on-location newborn shoot, capturing images nothing short of precious and adorable. What a sweetie! I’ll try to stop gushing now and get on with the pictures…..

And his sweet little smiling face, just way too cute!

This sweet baby girl came into the portrait studio at about six weeks old after another not-so-great experience at another studio. I was thrilled that this family gave professional photography another chance and even more thrilled that I was the lucky photographer! She was sweet, beautiful, with the sweetest parents… although a bit older than my newer newborn babies, she was such a pleasure to photograph!

This handsome little guy is 11 I think, but acts as sweet and kind and mature as many young men much older than his age! He was so sweet with his baby cousin… who is really more like a brother to him- such an incredible story and a few memorable photography sessions with this amazing family’s portrait sessions.

We had this adorable mother and daughter in the portrait studio a while back as another successful model search photography session with Erin! Going for simple and telling portraits of this sweet mother with her little girl, we managed to capture several facets of their relationship…
And how cute is this silly capture…?! Love all of these mother – daughter images!
And at the end, after checking out the gorgeous pettiskirt, we put this on for some fun individual portraits of this gorgeous little girl!

Well that two weeks flew by! Back to postings as usual, I have many sneak peeks to update on the blog! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and have kicked off the new year with a great start. Here are a few very recent images of a sweet, beautiful, energetic little boy… his image from about a year and a half ago with his beautiful mother is up in the blog header and if you’ve been in the studio, you have seen it as a beautiful fine art velvet print. It has been one of my favorites for a long time, but I can move on to some more recent favorites of him!! This hair.. these eyes- his energy and his smile… he’s one gorgeous and expressive little boy, it was so much fun to travel to New Berlin to photograph him and his beautiful mother and grandmother…

I had an incredible time photographing this beautiful family, just outside of Milwaukee in Menomonee Falls… this mom is such a truly incredible mom. Her daughter broke her arm on the 2nd day of school, but we went forward with our photography session as scheduled… it says a lot about a mom when they want to capture the real stuff and not need it to be perfectly perfect. This mom loves her kids so much, accepts that things happen, life goes on, and it all adds up to an incredible, sweet, amazing family. Enjoy the images.
A few before dad got home from work…
Dad got home and pulled in the driveway to be waved down and met us in the “field” (aka: empty lot) across the street from their beautiful home Look at this joy… this is the real stuff.
And ahhh, the pressure for the perfect family portrait for holiday cards… because *this* mom loves the interactions, the natural smiles, the real stuff, I think she’d be happy using one of many, but here is our attempt an hour in, for the one “smiling and looking” picture!

8 pm on father’s day- a little late, but wanting to wish all you dads out there a wonderfulfather’s day.
I am so happy to document your relationships with your children, and nothing warms my heart like a loving, kind, playful father who connects and cares so deeply for his children. Here is one recent fabulous dad, content to hold his content little guy…
Is that little look just adorable?! He felt so comfortable and happy in daddy’s arms. And a few of this handsome little guy himself…
And these EYES! They were even more incredible in person, if you can imagine!!
And for mom, well, she was pretty amazing herself. Check out these two…
It was a fantastic session! Gorgeous family. Big brother was fabulous as well, some images of him will follow!
I’m still figuring out which images I have release to post from the adoption event, so those are on their way. (This is what happens with 20 sessions when I don’t know everyone’s names!) My husband is recovering well and doing great- THANK YOU all so much for your kind comments and emails- we seem to be on the road back to totally normal, just catching up, while still trying to make my (stubborn) husband continue to take it easy!
Despite the crazy rain on and off around here, it was otherwise a beautiful weekend, I hope everyone has had a wonderful father’s day weekend!
