I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family recently in the Wauwatosa studio, these girls are going to be amazing big sisters to their new baby brother, soon! I could hang out with this mom all day, she was so much fun to talk to about pregnancy and baby and family “stuff” it was so wonderful to connect with them!

This was a delightful newborn photography session with some amazing, hard-working, busy, new parents and a baby that slept so soundly once he had enough to eat and zonked out. This beautiful new mother & father were so busy up until the very day that this precious little guy decided to make his entrance, their stamina amazes me! They were exhausted during the session, but still looked incredible. I tell my pregnant moms and expectant fathers that the newborn portrait session can take a lot out of you at just a few days/week postpartum… it’s true. It’s so worth it though when you see images like this resulting from the photography session.

This BEAUTIFUL baby girl and her equally gorgeous mother came into the natural light studio a few weeks ago for a photography session. Mom said she was not planning on being photographed but as soon as I saw how stunning and lovey dovey she was, I knew I had to take some portraits with her included! As a result, we captured so many touching mother & child images, as well as many individual images of just her sweet little girl.

This sweet, adorable 6 month old baby girl is one of my incredibly adorable watch-me-grow participants that I get to photograph in the Wauwatosa studio every few months over her first year. It brings me such joy to photograph such a gorgeous and so happy baby girl multiple times over the course of her first year… amazing to document these milestones, these smiles- just her as she grows. This sweet little guy and his wonderful parents came into the Wauwatosa photography studio for portraits the day that he turned 7 months.  It was a wonderful session, he was full of expressions, happiness, smiles and was such a pleasure to photograph!  I’m excited that he is in the Watch Me Grow program so that I’ll be able to document his milestones over the next year… so many amazing things to capture throughout that first-year photography program- look at how adorable he is!

We have had a string of AMAZING newborns into the Milwaukee photography studio these past few weeks, and have traveled to the homes of some great families for newborn photo sessions, too! This family came in to the Wauwatosa studio when their newborn daughter was nine days old, this mom and dad are amazing, and they are so much fun and easy to laugh and talk with. I knew I loved them from the minute they came in for their session because they were SO smitten with their precious new baby girl. We created some amazing portraits with all of that love shining through, it’s so tangible in their images, the way they hold her, look at her, just breathe in her adorableness.

 

And I’m so excited… these three images are going to be enlarged and displayed together in their home, arranged like this. Can you imagine having these beautiful portraits framed on the wall to look at every day?! Such a wonderful family.

This adorable toddler had a lot to do, he was one busy guy to photograph in the studio! With one year olds through about age two, toddlers in the portrait studio are fairly quick sessions! There’s no convincing a one year old to stay where he needs to, in front of the backdrop! These images were a joy to photograph, he had such personality and mom had amazing energy to keep up with him. This mom was a delight to photograph in her beautiful pregnancy curves… she was so comfortable with her body, and her love for her family and the baby on the way shows in her images. I adore photographing maternity sessions and was recently asked how many newborn baby sessions follow one of my maternity sessions. After thinking about it, I am thrilled to realize that nearly all of my clients that come in for newborn portraits started with maternity portraits! There are about two newborns in the past year that did not begin with a portrait session during pregnancy! It’s so exciting to know that these women will have images of their very temporary pregnant body to forever remember in such an artistic form.

This was one of the last mother & child photography sessions from the Winter special. What a winter special it was! I was so eager to photograph loving, sweet mothers with their amazing kids, and what I found in so many of those captures was just heart-melting. Here are a few portraits from their session, the children were so well-behaved and sweet, and their mother obviously so proud of them and smitten by them at the same time.
