natural light on-location with one of my favorite toddlers

One of the most amazing things about doing what I do is seeing these babies as they grow and change. I met this baby boy when he was a 3-month old infant… look at how teeny he was- we captured some amazing images during that three month photo session on-location in his home!

I also had the pleasure of photographing him in the studio when he was about 7 months old… some of these are some of my favorites from this adorable age!

And most recently… Ah, SUCH a fun 18 month session, again, in their home where he was most comfortable and natural for the photography. It was wonderful. A few images of him from just a few weeks ago… not a baby any more, now he’s his own little toddler, full of personality and smiles and pouts and cuteness!

And look! He’s doing the chicken dance! Thank you to this family for so many wonderful sessions (some of which I am not posting here, but I could fill up a whole gallery with images from his several sessions!) Amazing smile, eyes, and just the sweetest little personality!

Updated- we almost have all of the little models that we need, thank you for the great response! All I’d be looking for now is a baby that will be 7 months old the week of March 23 (meaning baby would be 6 months right now), and I’d love one more pregnant momma available that same week, who is 28-35 weeks along.

Fun news!! Lots of it! Please pass on this info if you know anyone either pregnant or with babies or children who may be interested in a model search session!

First of all, we are looking for some little models to show off what some natural light images in our big (newly emptied), natural light studio will look like! Contact me if you’re interested in this type of session! Specifically, this offer is for a complimentary mini session to babies of all ethnicities, between the ages of 7 months and 14 months, as well as 3-4 year olds. The types of images we’ll capture in the natural light studio will be amazing… very clean, simple, open… the gorgeous floors, textured walls, totally clean and open, uncluttered background.

We are also looking for a few pregnant “models” between weeks 28-35 of pregnancy, women who are comfortable in their skin, and husbands are more than welcome. The same offer of a free mini-session applies, as long as you are not too modest. Our goal is to capture some great images in a new setting and share them on the blog and website, so a model release will be required.

These “model search” mini sessions will be taking place in the Brookfield natural light studio between the weeks of March 16 through April 4th, and we’d like to have about 3 babies or children and two pregnant mothers (even better with a willing husband to join you!) within those few weeks.

More info on why the natural light studio is empty for these types of sessions… the main studio has moved into a different location in Wauwatosa. The Wauwatosa studio now has the backdrop and lighting setup, projection gallery, and most meetings, all pick-ups and ordering will take place there, in Tosa. We will be keeping the Brookfield studio in Stonewood Village, cleared out and ready to photograph in for a different, more natural style for childrens, family, and maternity portraits.

I can not resist posting a few more images from this newborn baby’s photography session. I’m without my regular computer for a few days, so blog postings with beautiful family, newborn & maternity pictures may slow down a bit, but there is lots of good stuff to come! In the meantime, enjoy this sweet infant’s newborn portraits!

And here is proud, new, big brother… I photographed an image very similar with mom by the same window, just over a year ago… time flies! If you click here for the children’s portrait photography site to see it in the “love” gallery. Precious!

sweet 6 week old baby girl

This sweet baby girl came into the portrait studio at about six weeks old after another not-so-great experience at another studio. I was thrilled that this family gave professional photography another chance and even more thrilled that I was the lucky photographer! She was sweet, beautiful, with the sweetest parents… although a bit older than my newer newborn babies, she was such a pleasure to photograph!

I adore photographing mothers with their children! Look at this sweet boy’s beautiful thick dark hair and big brown eyes… not to mention these eyelashes!! Him and his mommy have become dear friends of ours, it was a pleasure to photograph them! She is the sweetest mom, and he is the most snuggly almost-four-year-old ever! It was wonderful to photograph them together and capture a few casual, sweet moments between mother and son.

3 weeks, five pounds

This sweet baby boy’s mother called me to schedule a portrait session in the studio when her son was about to come home from the hospital… he had been there for a few weeks, born several weeks early. When I met him, he was three weeks old and weighed five pounds. He was tiny, sweet, and an EASY baby to photograph in the studio! I can only imagine how glad this wonderful new mom and dad were to have their baby home; she was a very devoted mother, spending a LOT of time at the hospital for those weeks! I spent a wonderful hour with these wonderful kids in Wauwatosa… I just adore the character in these Tosa homes (not to mention the incredible families and children who live in them!) and adore these types of photography sessions! The kids are comfortable and have fun being photographed in their natural environment, I adore watching them show me things in their home… it’s always a fun portrait session.

And as you may know, all portrait sessions now include a mini artist’s design storyboard using pictures from your photography session. Here’s an example of what one of these little storyboards may look like… it is 10 inches by 5 inches and mounted on a trimmed archival board, they’re so cute set out on a little easel! These kids are amazing! SO photogenic!

What a delight to photograph these two adorable, beautiful girls with their gorgeous and sweet mom and dad! They were just GREAT in the studio for an amazing photography session, and mom looked just stunning with her perfect, round, belly… Seriously. Does it get any cuter than this?!

Four kids five and under. I’ve just started to go through the amazing images from this studio family photography session and the images are incredible. While you won’t see them all 4 of the children this post, here are some images of their newest addition. This mom’s love and energy level for her children amazed me. Here are a few- I can’t wait any longer to post these adorable mother and baby captures! More images of the other gorgeous kids will be coming.

This AMAZING mom and her adorable new seven day old baby were an absolute delight. I am so honored to have photographed her for some maternity portraits during her pregnancy, she was just glowing, so beautiful and comfortable and thrilled to be expecting. All of those magical feelings carried over to this on-location newborn photography session, too! I could not believe how easily she was up and moving, and how much sleep she was getting with her precious newborn baby girl! (I was a bit envious!) Enjoy a few images of this gorgeous newborn baby…

Not the sleepiest new baby, but I don’t mind a bit when she’s as sweet as this little one! These big with eyes were so alert and beautiful! Here’s one with big brother and big sister… such sweet kids to photograph! It’s so nice to be able to provide newborn and family photography in people’s homes throughout the Milwaukee area, kids are so much more relaxed and natural to be themselves… not to mention it is so much easier on mom & dad when there’s a new baby involved!
