Me, that is- lacking self restraint!! I can’t stop myself from posting a few more from the last family photography session! I usually am able to control myself however this time, I simply can not. I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family out in Waukesha a few weeks ago, the sunset light was perfect, the beach was gorgeous, the kids were wonderful, and mom and dad were relaxed, had fun, and laughed plenty. It was truly a wonderful photography session, and I have about one zillion images to prove it! I’ve been a smidge behind lately in processing and posting to the blog, but I’m working hard to remedy that! I’ll include just some amazing images here of this family and spare you stories about each image… Well, I’ll try.
All of these! They are just irresistible!!
This next one is the result of Erin running over and tickling. There’s quite a story behind his cute little missing tooth… but in the end, we were happy that I was able to document this milestone!

Amazing everything! Look at this gorgeous little girl that I was so fortunate to photograph in a Brookfield park the other day! What a pleasure it was to photograph this sweet 10 month old and her family the other night just before sunset. She was full of smiles, laughter, and we beat the mosquitos; she didn’t get a single bite!
Her smile was contagious, her parents were fabulous- it was a great session! Here are a few of my favorites, but believe it or not, this isn’t even the best of the session… I’m saving those for the projection appointment in the studio!
This image seriously melts my heart. Only on daddy’s shoulder and only with that thumb.
This was one of the FIRST photographs that I took when I got the camera out. Always a good sign!
Let’s see… I think mom’s words were… “I’m not a foofy frilly kind of mom…” followed by… “well, let’s just see how it looks on her…” As IF there were any option but to look other than adorable?! Needless to say, we did take some in the tutu!
This one with daddy was perfect. The lighting was so beautiful it was almost magical.
But wait- it gets even better! 
This……. the look on mom’s face… { melt. } Love it.

is he just the most kissable little boy?! At four months old, this sweet baby gets more kisses from his momma than I could keep track of! They’re the most adorable mother-son pair ever. I am lucky to have photographed them.

When visiting this website, you’ll be able to view many more maternity images, as well as a gorgeous collection of newborn images.
With the new website, I’m excited to present some special maternity/newborn collections and to offer newborn sessions in the studio for a lower session fee, when I am able to photograph them before they are 10 days old. In case you are wondering, I still adore traveling to the homes of new babies to photograph these little ones and their families in the comfort and convenience of their homes! I’ve simply fallen in love with the light in the studio, and must admit that it is very efficient to have sessions in the studio, where I am familiar with the light, the options, etc. On-location sessions taking place at the homes of these new babies will CERTAINLY still be available, and I’m sure they’ll still be quite popular. This is just another option!
Wherever a new baby’s session takes place, the images are amazing!

Need I say more?! Look at the amazing hair on this little boy! I photographed this sweet boy when he was a newborn baby. In fact, two of the framed portraits in the studio are of him as a newborn! It was a wonderful session in their Milwaukee home, he was one of the easiest newborn photography sessions, and look at him now!

I have had the pleasure and honor of photographing this baby girl since the time that she was still in her gorgeous mother’s belly- and soon, I will photograph her first birthday party! It seems unreal to me that she is turning one… as many of you know, I tend to always visualize and think of the children that I photograph as the age that they were when I first met them, usually for their newborn session. To think that this little crawler is nearly a year old, is hard to imagine! Here she is with one of her favorite things… mommy’s shoes!
The first time that I stepped foot into their Milwaukee condo, I was in love. It is such a beautiful condo- I am so lucky to have gone there to photograph their beautiful family!
And she is so very lucky to have such amazing parents, so loved, so doted on and cared for.
And she enjoyed demonstrating her keen abilities on stairs for me as well!
It has been incredible to capture her as she has grown to be the little girl that she is now, I am one lucky photographer.

Boys with no shirts on. Back lighting at sunset. Superman band aids. Dirty little fingernails at the end of the day. Mosquito bites. These are my boys.
He’ll be five next month but still has the little furry hairs on the back of his neck, shoulders, arms, and even on his face, which you can just barely see…
Followed by the inevitable goofy-ness after about three seconds of holding back.
Motherhood is precious. These boys are amazing. I love every minute of every hour that I spend with them and have never enjoyed it more than I do right now. I love the little things about them, the things they cry about and the things they laugh about. I love to photograph them, to really capture the different facets of who they are. Who they are to each other, to themselves, and who they are to me. Because this is it. This is the now- them today, captured forever in images that I love so much and love every time I see them in our home. Portraits of them are filling my house lately more than they previously have.
Sometimes it just hits me that I don’t have enough. A good friend of mine has a sign where she keeps her camera that says: don’t be so busy photographing other people’s kids that you don’t do it enough for yourself. I think it happens to most photographers, it cycles around. I’m happy to be on a roll with them, whether they like it or not right now, they’ll love it later. We all will.
I don’t share them much on the blog but this time, I couldn’t not share them… snuggle your kids today. They’re just wonderful little people.

Oh boy is exactly it. Photographing this gorgeous little boy at the studio and outdoors at Stonewood Village, he proved to be the epitome of a toddler boy. Busy, interested, hands-on, and ADORABLE. He wanted to do whatever I was doing, and had lots of questions about everything. His mom- I could hang out with her for hours chit chatting- it was a FANTASTIC portrait session, one which I am clearly having a difficult time narrowing down which images to share here on the blog!
This was THE very first image as soon as I got my camera on this little man. With an expression like this to start, I knew we were in for a great session. His eyes are amazing, and he was so natural with me. Just an absolute joy to photograph.
And as much as I enjoyed chatting with his mother, her sweet boy loved her even more. They were so smitten with each other.
You could seriously FEEL how loved he was. And I can SEE it in this image. How content and safe and happy he is when mommy is holding him.
And my favorite little bridge, out on the edge of the studio’s property has never been so gorgeous in this amazing late afternoon light.
The best part (clearly….!) is that when telling daddy about the experience later, this little guy informed him that it was not only fun, but that (AHEM) I was pretty, too. HAHAHA! I could not stop laughing about that when his mom told me!!! Hey, gotta do what I gotta do to keep their attention, right?!

Have I mentioned that I get to photograph the sweetest, most beautiful, adorable families?
And that I love early morning light outside for sessions? AND that the scenery around Stonewood Village is amazing for photographing?!
And how very much I adore photographing kids who adore their parents and parents who adore their kids?!
