Look at this precious baby! What a pleasure it was to photograph this amazing, sweet baby at 7 days old in their Milwaukee home. The natural light in their home was just delicious. Here’s one more- gorgeous bright new eyes, seeing the world so fresh and new.

I’m excited to announce some special fall events!
On three Saturdays in September and October, we will be having some great events in the studio and outdoors on the studio grounds for families desiring a shorter photography session with the main objective of producing a beautiful family portrait or a capture of your children together for holiday cards. Please click here for details on the fall 2008 events! Repeat clients and new clients in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area are welcome to join us for this family and children’s photography event!
I know it’s early to think about a fall family portrait or Christmas or Holiday cards, but these will fill up fast. There was an incredible demand for “just a few family images” or “just holiday cards” last year that these mini-session photography events were created to fill those needs, when a full portrait session or even a mini session may not be necessary. Check out the information for these events and let me know if you have any questions!

Here is a recent gorgeous baby girl that I had the pleasure of photographing for a studio mini session. These eyes amaze me, clearly. Her eye contact here is so deep and focused, and she is so gorgeous. Such a beautiful, loved, happy baby…

Is there a hint of a smile on this newborn baby?
Twice, towards the end of our photography session together, this sweet baby did tiny little half smiles, and both times, we just barely captured just the tail end of them! This precious boy was so loved, has the most patient, kind and sweet mother and father- they are a truly beautiful family.
Their home in Milwaukee has THE most beautiful colors, beautifully decorated!
On this one on the left, I love how his hair is standing up on the top. What a precious newborn baby. Gorgeous little boy, and such a lovely family.

Phew! SO MANY great images from the Adoption Resources of Wisconsin fundraiser! I could say so many wonderful things about all of these families and more, but I’d be writing a novel to go with every picture. Every family was so special, every child was beautiful. Some wild and crazy and fun, some sweet and sensitive and quiet… it was a pleasure and an honor to photograph these families and children. It was practically 100 degrees and so humid outside, so we were in the building for this, with a backdrop and beautiful natural light. The thumbnail sheets are going out SOON for all 20 families… enjoy!

A few images from recent photography sessions. First, three crazy little monkeys in Brookfield, having just ONE peaceful, sweet moment the morning that I was visiting:
This little guy is one of THE happiest baby boys! So easy going and laid back and smiley.
And he loves his mommy, of course.
Big sister is just beautiful, has the most gorgeous smile, beautiful eyes…
Big brother!
And the sweet baby, who didn’t care to sit still for long!
And here is the gorgeous big brother from the baby in the post below. He was the most helpful, cooperative, sweet, and kind 9 year old- I could spend a whole day with him. So enjoyable.
And so sweet to his baby brother… you can just FEEL his sweetness in these images. I just loved these two guys!

8 pm on father’s day- a little late, but wanting to wish all you dads out there a wonderfulfather’s day.
I am so happy to document your relationships with your children, and nothing warms my heart like a loving, kind, playful father who connects and cares so deeply for his children. Here is one recent fabulous dad, content to hold his content little guy…
Is that little look just adorable?! He felt so comfortable and happy in daddy’s arms. And a few of this handsome little guy himself…
And these EYES! They were even more incredible in person, if you can imagine!!
And for mom, well, she was pretty amazing herself. Check out these two…
It was a fantastic session! Gorgeous family. Big brother was fabulous as well, some images of him will follow!
I’m still figuring out which images I have release to post from the adoption event, so those are on their way. (This is what happens with 20 sessions when I don’t know everyone’s names!) My husband is recovering well and doing great- THANK YOU all so much for your kind comments and emails- we seem to be on the road back to totally normal, just catching up, while still trying to make my (stubborn) husband continue to take it easy!
Despite the crazy rain on and off around here, it was otherwise a beautiful weekend, I hope everyone has had a wonderful father’s day weekend!

My husband required a visit to the ER last night resulting in an emergency appendectomy! It came on fast and hard, but was removed before rupturing, thank goodness. He is doing well, but nothing shakes you up quite like surgery. 
Thank you (SO many of you that received my call today!) for your understanding in rescheduling, postponing sessions and projection appointments, etc.
I will be in for a limited time on Thursday, however evenings will not be available for at least a week.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding of my family’s situation, posts will be updated again soon-

was incredible! What an amazing day at Adoption Resources of Wisconsin, in Greenfield, Wisconsin on Saturday. My assistant Erin and I had a great opportunity to donate our time and our photography to for so many beautiful families and their adopted or foster children. I received permission from several families to share the images here and I can’t wait to do that. As you can imagine, there are TONS of images to organize and process. Most portrait sessions, although short, consisted of a family portrait (three through 11 family members!) and then a portrait of just the kids- those siblings captures are beautiful. Many also desired individual portraits of each of their children. I have already started processing the portraits, they are all so gorgeous and represent the beauty of adoption and fostering amazing children in loving homes.

Here is the very first little girl that I MUST share. Meet gorgeous Mia. She has beautiful expressions, and an amazing smile! Many more to come in the coming days and weeks!
I hope that everyone made it safely through these terrible storms the past few days. Here is one shot taken in our neighborhood, just a few blocks away. We have curbs, standard height… totally covered by the “river” flowing down this road. It was flowing SO fast… scary. Thankfully, our home is up just a smidge higher, and the river that took over the roads missed us. We’re told by neighbors that this happened in our very area in 1998- perhaps it’s an every 10 years thing, but it was pretty crazy.

Two goals in this post- first, I am excited to share gorgeous images of this ADORABLE little girl’s outdoor photography session. She was one toddler who was totally into their backyard water feature. She wanted *nothing* to do with anything else once the water was mentioned! I did not mind a bit though, not with such a beautiful yard, a perfect afternoon, and capturing images like these. She was so cute, climbing, balancing, splashing, throwing rocks… so sweet.
She’s certainly got her parents wrapped around her cute little fingers. I don’t blame them. 
This was such a loving, fun, genuine family- a joy to photograph. These first two images are ART in their own way. Gorgeous, I love them.
The image below captures such a fun-loving natural joy in her expression. The colors are just beautiful. I am just head over heels for all of these images- and it was no easy task selecting less than a zillion images to present!
Second of all, PLEASE cross your fingers for good weather on Saturday!! We are conducting a 5-hour fundraiser event in Greenfield, WI Saturday 10-3 for Adoption Resources of Wisconsin. The reason I’m praying for good weather? Some families have as many as 11 family members, and I want so much to be able to photograph them outside. The larger the groups, the better it is to be outside! And the best part of this fundraiser photography event? When chatting with the coordinator today, I jokingly asked if she’d left a 10 minute lunch break in there for me some time… the answer… “um, not so much.” HA! We are looking forward to it. Erin and I can’t wait to meet and photograph all 20 of these wonderful families! Hopefully I will be able to post some of the images from it once I get un-buried from all of the images.

I’ve had so many sessions lately, both on-location throughout the Milwaukee area and in the studio. Several newborns, toddlers, siblings- and a couple of fantastic family photography sessions! Here is one gorgeous image from a newborn session in Menomonee Falls that got bumped to the front of the line for custom designed birth announcements. This image is so amazing, and there are SO many more incredible shots of this beautiful newborn baby girl.
