Tonight is a self proclaimed “party night” for me and my boys.  After a busy week, that is music to my ears!  As you may know, I worked out of my home gallery (and for photography sessions, entirely on location) until just this past Jan., when we moved the business into the fabulous Brookfield Studio, which I adore. Back in the day, I did quite a bit of late night proofing, I could never escape! Since the move, I no longer do any work at home; phone calls and email is about the extent of it. However, on the rare occasion when my husband is away for a night, I drag the laptop home (as if that’s what it’s for?) and proof, just like the good old days.

Such evenings when my husband is gone, it is a “party night” for me and my monkeys. We do things like go grocery shopping at 8 pm, order pizza at 9, and they fall asleep on the couch at 10! Not exactly the norm, but so much fun.

Tonight they zonked out, allowing me some rare quiet time and enjoyment to proof THIS amazing maternity session. It was a mini session, a wonderful mini session with a GORGEOUS, beautiful pregnant mother. I am excited to share these stunning images! I adore the outdoor images, she is so beautiful and natural.

The story behind the last post is one that makes me teary. Baby Jonathan was the first baby that I photographed about a year ago, when his grandmother contacted me. Jonathan never got to leave the hospital, but was loved beyond words, in a way that I can’t even begin to describe with words. There is NO doubt in my mind that he was with his new baby brother in spirit when this precious new baby entered the world, almost one year later, which to me, is a miracle. This family’s new baby boy was the most happy, smiley newborn baby that I have ever photographed. Ever. He smiled with these quick fleeting true smiles. I have never believed that those precious newborn smiles are “just gas,” I think babies smile because they are loved, perhaps because they have an angel watching over them. Here are some images of Jonathan from a year ago.

And here, precious new baby brother. Suffice it to say that I was elated to hear that they were expecting another baby, I was so honored to photograph this amazing baby.

This is one gorgeous, happy, laid back, loved baby boy. I asked his mom if she was ever able to put him down… and as I expected, the answer was no… not so much. He is just beautiful, and in the images when I look back, he reminds me so much of baby Jonathan. Welcome to the world, sweet new baby.

Here is one quick image from a photography session on-location in Menomonee Falls… this is one very special, very very loved baby boy. I will share the story in another post… it will quite possibly bring tears to your eyes….

After being out of town for a few days, I want to thank anyone who tried to contact me for your patience. Coming back to a full voice mail box and way too many emails is intimidating, however I’m getting caught up!

This first set of images is from a totally fun session in the studio a few weeks ago. This little girl took a catnap about 20 minutes into the session and woke up happy and recharged. Amazing what a little snuggle time with mommy does! I’m excited for this precious girl to be featured on the next issue of MetroParent’s New Baby publication. The last Metro Parent New Baby magazine had baby Kylie, one of the most recognized babies ever. It will be great to see baby A and her mommy on the next cover!

AND, I had the treat also to photograph some of the most adorable and different twins recently as well! They came quite a ways for their studio photography session in Brookfield, and I am so glad they did! They were polar opposites in many ways, but one way that they were alike was how affectionate and sweet they were with their wonderful mother.

You may recognize these beautiful girls from our special mother’s day photography event in the Brookfield studio several weeks ago… imagine how pleased I was to be able to photograph them again! It was a fantastic mini session outside on the studio grounds, these children are so sweet, just the ideal little models to photograph. Here are a few of my favorites from our portrait session.

You’re probably noticing a new look for the blog! The website’s new version is coming within a few days- bare with me while there are some different “looks” going on around here. The best thing about this new blog layout is the BIG IMAGES. Small pictures were fine for the blog but these larger one make it so much more fun to enjoy the images!

Since adding the subscribe feature (to the right) I am much more conscious of posting too many times in a row, because that means my subscribers get all these emails in a row! So if I am adding more peeks from the same session, I just tend to add to the same post, as to avoid cluttering up your inbox! So here we are… more of this precious 7 month old, whom I really couldn’t stop myself from photographing (and photographing) in the studio… enjoy these images!

Original post: I very recently photographed this beautiful girl in the studio. The most stunning baby girl and THE ONLY 7 month old to sleep like a newborn for me!! She was sleepy for the whole session but this baby did GREAT… smiles, snuggles, and finally… sleep. She (and her mommy & daddy) were incredible!!! More images of her to come soon!
