This mother was so smitten with both her beautiful children during our recent mini session outdoors at the studio, but this image just grabbed me as soon as I opened it up… I had to post it right away! Look at how MUCH she is just soaking up his cuteness… I love it!
I’ve had many fun family photography sessions lately mostly outdoors, I LOVE the fall weather but I hate how it’s getting dark so early!!
So… something a little different for this blog post- I’ve been tagged!
My friend, Connie, who is also an Annapolis, Maryland child & baby photographer tagged me to share 7 random things about me. The Rules are:

So here we go- as if you all could possibly be wondering “what random things can I learn about allie today…?”
1. My feet are like a second set of hands. I rarely bend over to pick anything up off the ground because I just get everything with my toes, and then get it up to my hands. Convenient!
2. My boys are going to be the CUTEST things for halloween: my 5 year old is going to be batman and my 3.5 year old will be his trusty sidekick Robin. Their costumes are just beyond adorable, surely you’ll see a picture o.
3. I love coffee- straight regular non-latte-fancy-just-black-coffee. I drink soda mostly and hate– never drink water. I don’t like ice cream and would much rather have something salty (CHIPS! Or chocolate covered pretzels!) than something sweet.
4. I’m an only child and neither my husband nor I have any family in the state. The closest is about 7 hours away. When “grandma and grandpa” come into town we go date-night crazy, since we have no other night time babysitter.
5. I am a picky eater but I could eat pizza and/or Qdoba every day of my life and still love it. A little haute taco (plus margaritas) is pretty fabulous too!
6. I homeschool my children. Hence my three LONG long long days at the studio and 4 full days home with them. :)
7. When my now 5 year old was a new baby, he had four addresses in three different states between when he was born and turned one. Lots of moving before we settled in the Milwaukee area 4 years ago.

And because no post is as fun without an image… here’s a laughable one. We had a blast trying to capture a family portrait… I haven’t decided yet if I’d consider this an outtake or a real option… it makes me laugh, I know that! 
What a wonderful outdoor photography session we had recently with this family… There are SO many fantastic captures, look at this beautiful family! And not to mention the best mini boden outfits! Their momma has good taste, she always has.

What a fun session. I’ve said it before about these four, but they give me just the kind of fun, carefree, laughter-filled family session I love. And another … so precious.
This portrait session was conducted in the most beautiful home and on the most amazing property in elm grove- it was a TREASURE and the absolute best treat for a children’s photographer!
Incredible, isn’t it?! Inside the home was equally fabulous… not to mention the gorgeous girls!
I had an incredible time photographing this beautiful family, just outside of Milwaukee in Menomonee Falls… this mom is such a truly incredible mom. Her daughter broke her arm on the 2nd day of school, but we went forward with our photography session as scheduled… it says a lot about a mom when they want to capture the real stuff and not need it to be perfectly perfect. This mom loves her kids so much, accepts that things happen, life goes on, and it all adds up to an incredible, sweet, amazing family. Enjoy the images.
A few before dad got home from work…
Dad got home and pulled in the driveway to be waved down and met us in the “field” (aka: empty lot) across the street from their beautiful home Look at this joy… this is the real stuff.
And ahhh, the pressure for the perfect family portrait for holiday cards… because *this* mom loves the interactions, the natural smiles, the real stuff, I think she’d be happy using one of many, but here is our attempt an hour in, for the one “smiling and looking” picture!

This place is going to be fabulous… I’ve never been a gymboree mom, even when my kids were younger (too sing-songy for us) or a Swiss Turners (too limited on open gym hours) nor have I wanted to drive to Grafton for their indoor gym, so what’s left in the cold months? I can’t wait to check this place out and have something in the Milwaukee area to do when there’s *nothing else to do* during our crazy Wisconsin winters. Photographing this family outdoors on the studio grounds was such a delight. It took this sweet girl a while to warm up to me, but once she did, we managed some amazing portraits.
This family had a bit of a drive to get into Brookfield for our photography session before sunset, and the light was just beautiful-wonderful session with such a sweet family!
I can not even tell you blog readers, how SWEET and fun and genuinely *happy* this couple was. This adorable mom was nothing but giggles and laughter… and on top of that, imagine how thrilled I was when she walked in the door- her adorable round belly, her gorgeous hair and beautiful eyes- this maternity portrait session was a real treat!!!
These two are so in love and so happy to be pregnant… I love this image, because it shows just that:
Look at how cute her round little belly is- I just love maternity photo sessions, that prenatal stage is SO short in the grand scheme of things, it’s amazing to document these curves, this happiness, the joy and excitement of what’s to come. I swear I get to photograph the most amazing families in Milwaukee!
The best news? There are TWO little babies inside this gorgeous belly!! Yep. She called and we first talked on my birthday- so I consider that my birthday gift- getting to photograph not only her but her newborn twins soon as well!!

Next up on my list of fun things to announce- our Watch Me Grow program has been a hit so far! With three new babies enrolled in the past week, I am SO excited to see these little ones grow and change as I photograph them over the next year!
The Watch Me Grow program includes three sessions over a baby’s first year… one around 3 months, the next between 6-8 months- whenever your baby is sitting up independently, and then “the” one year session around 12 months! The three sessions are all studio sessions, taking place here at the studio either in the studio or outdoors. At the end of the year, a 10″ mounted storyboard is yours, with one image from each session. The membership fee is $195 for the three sessions and the storyboard, and I couldn’t be happier about it because I LOVE to document the incredible changes that take place that first amazing year! The $195 is an introductory rate that will be going up to $295 after 10 babies are enrolled. Call or email with any questions!
Lastly, speaking of studio… with the colder weather upon us, there is a new addition inside the studio, here to stay, as an option for you when the weather outdoors is too cold for our photography session… take a look at these studio portraits!
Our studio portraits are simple. A nice, dark, simple backdrop, with props that add to the feeling of the image, the focus staying on your baby… we’ve been working on some new lighting techniques for some time and this little model was a great one to work with, because at one year old, she was busy! The lighting is soft and sweet… really quite nice, especially for babies!
