Here it is, towards the middle of January of 2012. Amazing what kinds of craziness, opportunities, and joy a new year brings. Heck, every minute of every day can bring new craziness and opportunities but the new YEAR just seems so magical. Here’s to a beautiful month for all of you!
This is one of my favorite images of 2011, favorite because it is a gorgeous picture of beautiful children and favorite because I love these children dearly.
Before I lost the last years worth of blog photography posts (oh, about 190 posts and…) I had a glorious story and entry on these kids with a beautiful photography video/slideshow… I must see if I can dig that up. It would be worth it. Happy January!

I am often asked why I put the photography line of text across my beautiful subjects faces when I post them here on the blog. This article gives a great explanation! While this is a bit extreme, I do not want any of my sweet pregnancy photos, maternity pictures, newborn photographs, or family portraits to be “stolen” off of the website and misused. When images are embedded into a flash slideshow (like the one above), they become much harder to “lift” off of a photography website, but the individually posted pictures in the blog posts below are a bit easier, and therefore, require protection!
When I photograph a family I take their privacy seriously and am always cautious of what I post (if they allow me to post their images at all to begin with.) Just wanted to share that relevant article on this topic! Hope your week is going great!
And of course, because no photography blog post is complete without a gorgeous baby or belly or family picture, here is a beautiful family on a gorgeous afternoon. These three girls were like little models- so photogenic, easygoing and fun to photograph!

I do have to post some pictures from not-so-recent sessions… this sweet father and son outdoor portrait was taken this past fall at a park in Rockford, just north of Grand Rapids, MI. LOVE the connection, love the light, love the feeling, the look- it is pure sweetness… this family was insanely sweet to photograph and I feel like the sweetness just oozes from their family pictures!

It is newborn photography season for this Grand Rapids children’s photographer! (Only because it is not outdoor family photography season!) Spring and summer are also the season for newborn pictures but by default, I mostly do maternity, newborns and babies during the winter… in the spring, I get many sweet children and families and older kids… but for now, enjoy some baby bliss!

A gorgeous photo of a mother with her precious daughter, a good friend of mine here in Grand Rapids, visiting the week before Christmas. This baby girl (and her big sisters) are so gorgeous, it is hard to keep my camera off of them… just wanted to share a sweet picture.
