I can not believe how many people voted in the business card contest!!!! Thank you all! Check in again soon to see who the winner is! Of course, in your spare time- feel free to go ahead and count them up to figure it out….. just kidding- I’ll officially announce it in my next post! :) I especially appreciate the votes by Godiva the cat and big brothers & sisters having a say in it. :) They are so gorgeous- all of these children… I am so fortunate to photograph them- thank you all so very much. Every vote counts and I will be totalling it up tonight!
In the meantime- my goodness it’s been hard not to post normal stuff, in order to keep that contest at the top. Here are a few images of a beautiful 7 year old girl who happens to be #4′s big sister…
And another one, in which her mother and I agree that she looks older than she is, but still, an amazing image with the most striking eyes…
And HERE is the baby that came from one of my recent maternity posts! What a truly beautiful baby girl this was, so very easy, sweet, sleepy… just a joy in every way.
Last, the pregnant momma that I photographed with the gorgeous dogs- I met and had the honor of photographing her new baby this morning and he is just beyond adorable. Another wonderful family- so in tune with their new baby, such a pleasure… images of him coming soon!
MORE snow tonight- argh!!! Stay warm! :)

It’s never easy…to choose the image used on a business card. It’s the kind of thing I could “accidentally” spend an hour doing, to actually have no finished business cards to print at the end of the hour. In the end, I need to just PICK ONE and go with it, order it, and be done. So… I need help.
I am posting 11 images below. I don’t dig too deep through the archives, and I have a zillion more favorites besides these… but alas, these are the 11. Some of them are oldies but goodies that gave permission to use on marketing materials that I just haven’t used yet.
Each one has a number… simply click on comments, down below all the images, and vote. Vote as many times as you’d like, anyone may vote. The image chosen will be the one on my new cards used throughout the Milwaukee, WI area for custom photography specializing in newborns, babies, children and family photography- Parents of the winning image will receive an 8×10 classic print of it, and of course a few business cards for the brag factor. :)
So that’s it. Vote below! And while you’re visiting, don’t forget to subscribe to the blog for email updates! (Enter your email address in the subscribe feature to the right.)
I’ll go with the majority as it stands on Monday the 11th at 5 pm. Thanks for your help!!

You leave for work at 7:40 and don’t get TO work until 9:45!! So this morning, I left the house with my boys at 7:40 am. We have a long drive to our (far-away-but-worth-it) babysitters house that usually takes about 30-35 minutes, however today it took an hour. Then on the way back- what was going on with the TRAFFIC?! Nothing was moving! (Yes, I know it snowed, but seriously.) Not moving on 94, not on Capitol… another hour, for a drive that usually takes 15 minutes!! All the way here, people are in their cars, rubbing their tense foreheads, talking stressfully on their cell phones… my little monkeys are I… we were just rocking out to Elizabeth Mitchell.
So I get to the studio and nothing has been plowed, my car gets stuck… for some reason when I finally get in, the heat’s turned way down and it’s freezing, and I have a session a few min. later. Luckily the session was great, this pregnant momma was beyond adorable, her kids even more adorable.
Hope you all enjoyed the snowday throughout Wisconsin yesterday. Crazy.
Here’s my back yard this morning:
Images of new business card options coming hopefully later today!

I photographed this sweet baby boy about a month ago. He was an EASY 3.5 week old… we all know I like to photograph teeny new babies before they are 10 days or so, and so a 3.5 week old little schmoopy had me a little bit worried. I went into Wauwatosa for the session and it was so wonderful, him and his gorgeous mother were SO wonderful to photograph. Just a beautiful home, beautiful baby, such a loving new mom… it was a great session.
I saw him today when they came in to pick up their portraits and I could NOT BELIEVE how much he had changed. Yes, they do always change fast, but this was a perfect example… I should have photographed him today to show the change! Anyway, here is this sweet boy who slept like a perfect little angel for me for a few minutes.

In the coming day or three, I will be posting a contest of sorts. I need to order new business cards with the studio’s new contact info/address, etc. and that means choosing a different image for the cards!
Check back soon to cast a vote on which image should be on the next round of cards! :)

…produced the cutest tiny baby!!
Look at how adorable this belly is! This was at 32 weeks pregnant, and may have been the smallest 32 week belly that I’ve ever photographed! This morning, I photographed her newborn baby girl… she was so so sweet and adorable, the most beautiful skin, hair and eyes. Images of her to come soon. Congratulations, A- she is just perfect!! She was such a joy to photograph!

I am so happy that so many of you have subscribed to the blog… it is wonderful to really know who the readers are and to see that they want to know when new posts are up! If you have not submitted your email address yet, go ahead! Your email address doesn’t go anywhere except to me, you won’t get any junk… it’s safe.
I had a great client over to the new photography studio in Brookfield recently to try a casual little mini session with her gorgeous girls. Here are just a few. I need to post a few of big sister too… next post. :) I call it a “studio”, but it’s not the typical backdrop-lighting-portrait-studio. I am in LOVE with the window light… and the projection viewing and ordering corner of it is nice and comfy… I’m in heaven in this space. Anyway, a few images taken here.
AND, I know I need to post some images OF this new studio… however it is still not quite perfect. I am trying not to focus on the little teeny details that probably don’t matter to anyone except for me, but I can’t help it! I want it to be *just* right. Some day hopefully soon…
Here’s one more of this gorgeous girl with the “model” pout! She really is stunning.
Have a wonderful ((snowy)) weekend. Gotta love Wisconsin!
